Directors Committed to Improving the Lives of Guatemalan Youth
Edgar Hernandez – Founder and President
Edgar is a U.S. citizen who was born in Guatemala. He has worked at the Canal Community Alliance in San Rafael. A life-long runner, his passion has been to help improve the health of his former countrymen in Guatemala through running. His volunteer work for the past nine years has been to collect running shoes from retail stores and other locations and to deliver them to associates in Guatemala, who distribute the shoes where they do the most good.
Art Boudreault – Secretary and Director
Art spent most of his career at high technology businesses in positions of increasing responsibility. He designed, marketed and sold equipment that tested products such as microprocessors and memory for the semiconductor industry. He managed a consulting business that helped Japanese auto manufacturers in Tennessee improve their production line efficiency. Now retired, he focuses his efforts with nonprofit enterprises in the field of alcoholism and resource conservation. He was president of the San Jose chapter of the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence (NCADD). He is a director on the boards of New Almaden Quicksilver Park Association (NAQCPA) and Friends of Los Alamitos Watershed (FOLAW). He also volunteers at the New Almaden Mining Museum in computerizing their historical resources and has served on the Santa Clara County Certification Appeals Board.
